THIRD SEMESTER BEGINS

Today, June 23 2025 marked the beginning of Semester 3 classes.

MOCK VIVA DAY 02

Day 2 mock viva sessions were conducted for Edu 07, Edu 08, Edu 09, Edu 10.2, and Arts and Aesthetic Education, led by Anjana TR, Bindya teacher, Sanila teacher, Deepti teacher, and Aswathy teacher, respectively.

MOCK VIVA DAY 01

The first day of mock viva was conducted for (Edu 06) Education in Indian Society. The session was undertaken by Vijusha ma'am.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

As part of International Yoga Day, our college collaborated with P.T.M.I.T.E., Indian Association of Life Skill Education, and Family Planning Association of India (FPAI) to organize a program. The event featured esteemed guests, including Ms. Shobha Mathew, Branch Manager of FPAI, Dr. Sundareshan Nair, former Director of the State Resource Centre, and Dr. G. Suresh Kumar, a renowned Yoga Master and Chairperson of FPAI. The program commenced with an invigorating yoga session, where participants engaged in various yogic practices, making it a truly enriching experience for all. This was followed by an insightful session led by Ms. Shobha Mathew, who shed light on the vital work of FPAI, including counseling services and health screenings. Overall, the event proved to be a valuable experience, promoting both physical well-being and awareness about essential life skills.

READING DAY CELEBRATION : CLASSROOM LIBRARY ARRANGEMENT

As part of the Reading Day celebration, our college arranged a classroom library for the school students, where we contributed two books each to enrich the collection. The inaugural ceremony was held today, marking the beginning of this initiative. The classroom library will undoubtedly become a valuable resource for the students, providing them with access to a diverse range of books and sparking their imagination.

We were introduced to a variety of psychology lab instruments by our teacher, including intelligence assessment tools like the Seguin Form Board and Bhatia’s Performance Battery. In addition, we explored instruments used to study perception and cognitive functions, such as illusion devices and dexterity testing tools. We also had the chance to interact with several of these instruments, gaining hands-on experience and a clearer understanding of their purpose in analyzing human behavior.

Our teacher introduced us to a range of psychology lab instruments, including intelligence tests like the Seguin Form Board and Bhatia’s Performance Battery. We also learned about tools designed to study perception and cognitive processes, such as illusion apparatus and dexterity testing equipment. We had hands-on experience with some of these instruments, which helped us understand their functions and significance in the study of human behavior.

NATIONAL READING DAY

As part of Reading Day, a mini library was arranged on the D.El.Ed campus, featuring a diverse collection of books in English and Malayalam. We had the opportunity to explore and learn about these books. Additionally, school students visited the mini library and participated in an engaging session called "Read and Respond," where teachers would mention a book and students had to answer questions related to it, such as identifying the author. Prizes were distributed to the winners, making it an interactive and enjoyable learning experience.

SKILL OF BLACKBOARD

GROUP SEMINAR- ASSESSMENT IN EDUCATION (EDU 08)

Our group seminar, conducted online, focused on the characteristics of a good evaluation tool, specifically exploring validity, reliability, objectivity, and practicability. We also discussed the differences between norm-referenced tests and criterion-referenced tests. Through this seminar, we gained a deeper understanding of assessment principles and their practical applications.

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM

Our principal, Dr. R. Anukrishnan Sir, a UNESCO-certified trainer, conducted a capacity-building program on self-awareness. The session began with an engaging exercise where we wrote down our strengths and weaknesses within a minute each. The program covered essential topics such as the meaning and scope of self-awareness, self-image, locus of control, and emotional intelligence. As prospective teachers, we found the session highly useful in helping us understand our inner selves.

NAAC ACCREDITATION: B+ ACHIEVED

As part of the NAAC virtual visit, our college has received NAAC accreditation with a B+. As part of this joyous occasion, teachers, students, and staff shared their happiness, and the management also arranged a lunch for the students. The event was filled with smiles and cheers, celebrating this remarkable achievement. Everyone felt proud of the college's hard work and dedication. This accreditation marks a significant milestone in our institution's journey toward excellence.

ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION

As part of Environment Day celebrations, an inter-institute quiz competition was conducted by D.El.Ed students. Our B.Ed batch excelled, winning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes. Additionally, a workshop on album making was organized with the theme 'Herbal Garden'. Each student received plants, identified their common name, biological name, family, and medicinal values, and compiled this information into an album.

SCHOOL REOPENING DAY

Today was the school reopening day, and we joined in to gain hands-on experience. We assisted with providing meals to the students and also took charge of substitution periods, which gave us a glimpse into the responsibilities of a teacher. It was a valuable experience for us as prospective teachers, helping us understand the dynamics of a school environment. We were able to observe and participate in various activities, making it a productive and insightful day. Overall, it was a great way to kick-start our teaching journey.
